I have been married to my best friend since 2001
and we have three inspirational children. I
work full time taking care of Hubby, our kids, and our home. I also work part-time selling essential oils with Young Living as well as educating about their benefits and uses.
I have always enjoyed cooking and creating in the kitchen. In 2007, with the birth of my 3rd child, I decided to make nutrition a priority in my house. I'm not talking about eating some green beans at dinner healthy. It's more along the lines of a complete overhaul on how we view food and where it comes from. Eating whole food and minimizing food toxins has become extremely important to me. In 2010, I started a blog about our adventures in clean eating and changing our healthy perspective. It is called Kids and my Kitchen and you can find it HERE. I wrote consistently for 2 years and the process was eye opening. I have since learned the importance of balance. While we don't always eat as clean as I would like, we certainly don't eat like we did before. I try to make most of our food from scratch and I don't bring toxic food ingredients into my house. I also wrote a brief blog on my spiritual and physical journey in 2012. It is called Running under Your Wings and can be found HERE.
Fast forward to February 2014. Hubby and I were struggling for several years on whether or not to medicate our oldest for ADD. In addition, he struggled with extreme pollen allergies, mild food allergies, and anxiety. I hated giving him the allergy medication because it gave him nightmares and made him even more inattentive; not to mention all the internal side effects I was reading about. A friend of mine told me about how she was using essential oils and invited me to come to a class. I was floored by this world of essential oils. How had I not heard about them before?
I had the healthy food part down, but I didn't have control over the toxins in household cleaners, body care products, and of course, medication that I was allowing into my home. I'm an avid researcher and in the year to follow, I took my time to get to know essential oils and how they could benefit my family. I started by using them to aid in sleep and anxiety. Then, seasonal allergy discomfort. I had several opportunities to use them to strengthen immune systems during illness and I've seen them completely take away nausea. I began making my own household and beauty products. They really fit into my idealogy of making food/items from scratch to eliminate unneeded and harmful ingredients.
So now, I am re-entering the blogging world and would love to share with you my passion once again. Essential Oils have rounded out my quest for a chemical-free house and I can’t imagine going back to a time without them. The future of my children is a top priority and giving them a powerful, energetic, long, and healthy life is the focus of my energy right now.
